Fortune 500 Company Selects Blackline GPS to Provide Employees with Lone Worker Safety Enterprise Wide
Calgary, Alberta, CANADA – August 5, 2010– A FORTUNE 500® company, who is also a member of the Dow Jones Transportation Average and the Standard & Poor's 500 Index, has selected Blackline GPS to deliver its lone worker safety solution on an initial deployment to over 450 company employees following a successful pilot. Blackline's signature safety product, Loner GPS™, will provide enhanced safety monitoring capability to the company in order to help ensure employees benefit from the latest safety technology available.
"We are particularly proud to partner with this company in delivering our lone worker solution to them. This organization has implemented a safety regimen that is becoming pervasive in Canada and helped to set their standard for adoption. The effort to ensure the well-being of their employees is reflected by their consistent ranking among the best employers in the world, recognized by Fortune as one of America's most admired companies", said Clark Swanson, CEO of Blackline GPS.
Measuring as small as the average size mobile phone, and easily able to clip onto any hip pocket, trouser fabric or belt, the Loner GPS™ constantly provides the company with the lone worker's precise location. It includes a panic button for emergencies and will detect lack of motion that may indicate a worker in distress.
"Estimates show that more than 8% of the workforce falls within the lone worker category. Being among the first to market with a dependable and cost-efficient solution provides Blackline with the unique path to assist corporations with their varied needs in providing lone worker safety," says Cody Slater, Chairman of Blackline GPS.
Companies across Canada have become subject to stringent legislative obligations for lone worker safety. Canadian Federal law supports new Provincial mandates for safety across the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick. Lone worker legislation has also been passed in a growing number of countries around the world, such as the United Kingdom and Australia.
